|Coat of Many Colors
1 paper grocery bag per child, various colors of tempera paint, paintbrushes
Cut each paper bag into a vest by cutting from the top center straight down to the bottom. Cut arm holes on sides and turn bag inside out so no words are showing. After reading the Bible story about Joseph's Coat of Many Colors, invite the children to make their own "coats of many colors" by painting the prepared bags. This worked very well as an outdoor activity, and I had the children each drape their paper bag coat over a plastic chair to make it easier to work on. I let them dry overnight, and the children loved wearing them home the next day!
