Giving Thanks Doorknob Signs
You'll need:
Wooden doorknob signs, decoupage glue, paint, various magazines for cutting out decorations

Directions:
A good project for November in preparation for Thanksgiving: These are to show appreciation to either people in the church or for others (family members, etc.). Have kids pick one color and paint the doorknob hanger (these are available at Walmart in the craft section for 57 cents). They should do only a thin coat of paint! Do your lesson while the paint dries. Next, have them spread a thin coat of decoupage glue on the back of the tags you have printed that say "Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good!" or "I give thanks to the Lord for you" or a verse of your choice. Put this on the hanger and then spread a thin coat of glue over the top. If you have enough time, have them either paint on designs or glue on pictures from magazines. On the back, have them write a personal message to this person: "Dear Mrs. Wade: Thank you for directing our children's choir! Love, Jesse." When totally dry, have the kids deliver them to the people. This can easily be stretched out over 2 class periods!
