Prayer Journal
You'll need:
Construction paper,white (or computer paper),markers,hole punch,yarn |
Directions:
Print the "pages" of the journal on your home computer or make them or hand letter the pages. If you choose to do this on the PC, select "landscape" for the page setup or format.
On the left side of the page, put the words: "Prayer Requests". On the right side, put the words" "Thank You, God!" Underneath both of these phrases, put numbered lines:,1.______________,2. _____________,etc.
Make 3-4 of these for each journal.
Then fold all of these pages in half and also the construction paper sheets in half the same way.
Punch 2 holes in these papers and the construction paper sheet at the same time and left the papers inside the construction paper.
Cut several colors of yarn into 20" lengths.
Let each child choose a "packet" of construction paper/inside pages and also a color of yarn.
Have each child use markers to "title" their journal (eg: "My Prayer Journal," "Prayer Journal", "Lauren's Prayer Journal") and then decorate it as they desire. Each child then can thread the yarn through the 2 holes in all of the pages and tied in a bow, to complete the book. This ties into I Thessalonians 5:17 "Pray constantly" and Matthew 6: 5-15.
